While rents across New York City rise with demand (instead of with average income), Will Smith has given us all a reason to revisit the ever so common aspiration of film and entertainment. Heck, if a group of Mormon sisters (all married to the same man by the way) can become cable tv stars, who can’t? For apparently, movie stars get offered free homes…well at least Will Smith does.
As reported by Matt Chaban of the NY Observer, Brooklyn’s luxury condominium developer, Mendy Gorodetsky, has had a rather difficult time of selling units in his posh new development at 75 Grand Avenue in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill quarter. The price range on the units is $369,000-$799,000.
So in a stunt to raise the profile of his building, Gorodetsky has offered Will Smith a free lease of a 2,300 square foot penthouse in his building. This massive penthouse, which boasts 16 foot high mezzanine ceilings, is not the only part of this seductive package. As reported by Gate Crasher, Gorodetsky is also offering “ensuite meals” delivered by nearby Choice Market and “between-takes chocolate massage treatments” from Clinton Hill’s Body By Brooklyn.
This former fresh prince of Bel-Air has the luxury of turning down a offer which is fit for a king. But will Smith be lured in by Brooklyn real estate? After all, he has nothing to lose.
